As a kid, every fall I had to clean the leaves out of the fence between my neighbors and our yard. There were a ton of bushes next to fence and getting all the leaves out was a real chore. I was amazed at home many leaves would collect there through the summer. My dad would suggest that I raked them every now and then so I wouldn’t have so much to clean at the end of the fall. But the idea of raking leaves didn’t sound good either. So I waited and paid the price at the end.
Man I wish I had known about lawn sweepers back then. Keeping the lawn free of debris would have been easy with one of these cool gardening tools (or garden equipment I guess). There are many different types of lawn sweepers so the one you choose depends on many different things.
- How large is your lawn?
- How much storage space do you have for a yard sweeper when it’s not in use?
- How much money do you want to spend?
- What do you intend to pick up with it?
- Do you have a garden or lawn tractor or ATV?
There is the push yard sweeper which is human powered and requires a person to push the sweeper across the lawn which powers the brushes. There is also the tow behind lawn sweeper that is towed behind some type of vehicle like a garden tractor or ATV.
All lawn sweepers have brushes that spin as the sweeper is moved across the lawn and sweep the lawn debris up into the hopper or hamper. Depending on the type of sweeper you have, the hopper size will vary.

Hello, You may wonder why I’ve named my blog “Lawn Sweeper and Garden Tools.” Well, I love lawn sweepers and garden tools and have found many over the years that have made my lawn and garden jobs easier. I hope to share some of them with you here.
Let me start right off with exactly what is a lawn sweeper? Well, it’s pretty much just that, a garden tool (or equipment) that sweeps your lawn. Lawn sweepers come in many different shapes and sizes.
